Angelo Falcone

Angelo Falcone • Wine Director

Angelo Falcone was born and raised in Torino, Italy. Son of Sicilian and Pugliese parents, he was raised in a traditional Italian household with two sisters and a brother. He summered with his grandparents in Puglia where at the age of six, his grandfather would mix wine into his Orangina, beginning his love of wine.

Starting at age twelve, Angelo has worked most of his life as a professional server. In the military he was the server for the General’s table followed by being the server for the Torino Calcio Soccer Club.

Angelo studied cooking at the Istituto Professionale Alberghero in Torino. He then spent ten years in the cruise line industry where he met his wife and moved to the United States in 1998.

One of his first jobs in the States was as a server at Il Capriccio where he trained under long-time Wine Director Jeannie Rogers. From there, he has been the wine steward at Tomasso Trattoria, a salesman at Lower Falls Wine Company, and a vineyard manager in Tuscany. He has graduated from the Wine & Spirits Educational Trust.

As time passed, his passion for and knowledge of wine has grown tremendously. He often travels to Italy and France, visiting vineyards and meeting wine producers.

With Jeannie Rogers recently deciding to run Adonna Imports full-time, Angelo has returned to Il Capriccio to take over as the new Wine Director. The restaurant looks forward to him following in Jeannie’s footsteps with his tremendous knowledge of great Italian wines.
